Per il dialogo abbiamo bisogno di amare tutti

"La mia missione non è semplicemente la fratellanza dell'umanità indiana. La mia missione non è semplicemente la libertà dell'India, benché oggi essa assorba, in pratica, tutta la mia vita e tutto il mio tempo. Ma attraverso l'attuazione della libertà dell'India spero di attuare e sviluppare la missione della fratellanza degli uomini. Il mio patriottismo non è esclusivo. Comprende tutto, e io ripudierei quel patriottismo che cercasse di affermarsi sulla miseria o lo sfruttamento di altre nazioni.

E il patriottismo che io concepisco non vale nulla se non si concilia sempre, in ogni caso e senza eccezioni, con il maggior bene dell'umanità tutta. Non solo, ma la mia religione e il mio patriottismo che deriva dalla mia religione abbracciano ogni vita.

Voglio attuare la fratellanza e l'identità non soltanto con gli esseri che si chiamano umani, ma voglio attuare l'identità con ogni vita, anche con quelle cose che strisciano sulla terra. Voglio, se non vi scandalizzo, attuare l'identità perfino con le cose che strisciano sulla terra, perché affermiamo di discendere dallo stesso Dio e, perciò, qualsiasi vita in qualsiasi forma appaia deve essere essenzialmente una.

È impossibile essere internazionalisti senza essere nazionalisti. L'internazionalismo è possibile soltanto quando il nazionalismo diventa una realtà, cioè quando popoli appartenenti a diversi paesi si organizzano e sono in grado di agire come un uomo solo. Il nazionalismo non è un male."

My mission is not merely brotherhood of Indian humanity. My mission is not merely freedom of India, though today is undoubtedly engrosses practically most of my time. But through the fulfillment of India's freedom I hope to suffice and carry on the mission of universal brotherhood. My patriotism is not exclusive but instead all-embracing, and I should reject that patriotism which sought to mount upon the distress or exploitation of other nationalities.
The conception of my patriotism is nothing if it is not always, in every case without exception, consistent with the broadest good of humanity at large. Not only that, but my religion and my patriotism derived from my religion embrace all life.
 I want to fulfill brotherhood and identity not merely with human beings but in every form of life. If it's not too much I would want to conform identity even with the crawling creatures on earth, because we claim as descents of the same God, and therefore, all life in whatever form it appears must be essentially one.
It is impossible for one to be internationalist without being a nationalist. Internationalism is possible only when nationalism becomes a reality, that is when peoples belonging to different nations have organized themselves and are able to act as one man. Nationalism is not evil.
