"This day was dedicated to make Chiara Luce Badano known in Goa through a programme of two hours interspersed with songs, choreographies, Indian classical dance, experiences and the video of her life.
It was prepared by youth from all over Goa with rehearsals that started initiated a month ago. Some adults willingly offered themselves to help us out with their artistic talents. It turned out to be a strong experience of unity amongst different generations.
A group of 30 of us met on Sunday morning to set up the place and to perform a general rehearsal. To our joy, a group of 4 gen boys from Bangalore made this special trip to be with us and help with the programme. Before everything else, we reminded ourselves that the most important thing was to love one another. We felt the link with the gen from other parts of India and of the world, who were also involved in various activities for the United World Week 2011.
The programme, which was followed with great attention by all present, proved to be certainly a journey to discover Chiara Luce’s life.
18 youth came for the first time and left very deep impressions:
“It’s been a wonderful experience to know about the life of Chiara Luce, It is so good to know that even an ordinary youth can be a saint by just following the Gospel and practicing it in day to day life.”
“I liked today’s programme. The impression it left on me is: If a youth just like us can lead such a good life why can’t I? ”
“It gave us an idea of how we, in our small ways, can make a big impact. Our small actions are enough to change the world.”
“Today’s programme was amazing! After today I have decided…. Chiara is my role model I shall do my very best to walk in her footsteps… love one and all… keep a smile on my face… and to face all my difficulties with no hesitations and keeping Jesus at the centre of my heart”
“Very overwhelming to see the amount of grace that can reach a person and touch the life of others. Quality of life counts more than quantity…..”
