A tu per tu con Emmaus / Face-to-face with Emmaus: GMG/WYD

Italiano: Cosa vuoi trasmettere ai giovani? Il tuo sarà un contributo alla preparazione dell’incontro dei giovani col Papa durante la Gmg?

«Vorrei dare ai giovani la bellezza e la gioia di spendere la vita per grandi ideali! Mostrare il fascino della sfida a puntare in alto, a farsi santi: è lì la felicità e la piena realizzazione di ogni loro aspirazione! Dio chiede cose grandi perché Lui è grande e non si contenta di poco, però offre la sua grazia per vivere quanto chiede. E poi vorrei dire loro che sì, può sembrare un’impresa inaccessibile se si è isolati, ma insieme diventa possibile. E vale la pena! La GMG è un appuntamento che attendiamo con gioia e a cui parteciperanno anche tanti giovani del Movimento, da tutto il mondo. Insieme a tutti gli altri vorremmo offrire la testimonianza di persone solide, radicate nella fede e nell’amore, in Gesù, come ci invita il Papa nel suo messaggio».

English: What would you like to convey to young people? Your message will be a contribution to prepare the youth meeting with the Pope during World Youth Day?

 “I would like to share with all the young people the beauty and the joy of spending their lives for great Ideals! I would like to show them the fascination of this challenge, of aiming high and of becoming saints: this is how they will achieve real happiness and the fulfilment of all their aspirations! God asks for great things because he is great. He is not contented with little things but he offers his grace to live up to all that he asks.

I would also add that this goal of ours may seem an unreachable target if we were to be isolated from one another however, being together, this becomes possible. And it’s worth it! The WYD is an event that we are all joyfully looking forward to, and to which many young people of the Focolare Movement from all over the world will participate. Along with all the other young people we would like to offer the testimony of solid persons, rooted in faith and in love, in Jesus, as the Pope invites us to be through his message.”
