Amazonia: A world with no borders

The Youth for a United World from Manaus, Brazil shared with us the following: "We wish to share with you a particular experience that we are making with two Y4UW who are deaf (hearing impaired). Our unity with them grew very strong during the rehearsals we had for the choreography that we have prepared for the feast of Chiara Luce Badano in Manaus on Saturday, 29 October. In this way, our relationships grew even stronger with the deaf community to which these Y4UW belong to. Of course, we are still at the beginning of a deep relationship, however, we very happy to share with them our life and realize that our ideal of building a united world has no borders and everyone can take part!

Youth for a United World

We are the “Youth for a United World (Y4UW) Movement” founded by Chiara Lubich in 1985. It is part of the wide ranging Focolare Movement. Our age varies between 17 to 30 and we come from different walks of life. In fact, our main characteristic is universality. We are youth from all over the world and we belong to different ethnic groups, nationalities and cultures. Many of us profess different creeds, whilst some of us don’t have a religious belief; however we are all passionate protagonists striving to build a united world.

Giovani per un Mondo Unito

Siamo il Movimento "Giovani per un Mondo Unito (Y4UW)" fondato da Chiara Lubich nel 1985 e che fa parte del Movimento dei Focolari. La nostra età varia tra 17 e 30 e veniamo da diversi percorsi di vita. In realtà, la nostra caratteristica principale è l'universalità. Siamo giovani provenienti da tutto il mondo e apparteniamo a diversi gruppi etnici, nazionalità e culture. Molti di noi professano differenti fedi, mentre alcuni di noi non hanno un credo religioso; ma siamo tutti protagonisti appassionati nel costruire un mondo unito.
