It’s also yours: come and receive the Nobel Peace Prize 2012
Congratulations!
Did you know that you have won the prestigious Nobel peace prize? This year the European Union and its 500 million people were awarded this prize for turning Europe from a continent of wars into a continent of peace. The award will be presented in the Norwegian capital Oslo on 10 December 2012.
4 young Europeans - maybe you? - will be accompanying EU leaders to collect this prize.
Are you up for this?
Are you between 8 and 24 years old? Are you a national of an EU country, an acceding country or candidate country to the EU?
Then tell us: What does peace in Europe mean to you?
Get your pencils and paper - or a computer - out and send us your drawing (if you are between 8 and 12) or short text of maximum 120 characters (if you are between 13 and 24) by 25 November 2012.
The European Youth Forum, partner of the EU for this contest, will pre-select the 16 best entries for each age group (8-12; 13-17 and 18-24) and a jury will select three final winners (one for each age group).
The 16 pre-selected entries from the categories 18-24 will also be posted on Facebook for a vote by the public. The candidate with the most votes will be invited to Oslo. This winner will also be invited to come to Strasbourg for a special event around the Nobel prize on 12 December, and so will the 9 runners-up!
You could be one of the 4 lucky young Europeans winning a trip to Oslo and an unforgettable experience of the Nobel Peace Prize celebrations!
