DELHI: Just flour, eggs & salt

Just flour, eggs, salt and... the machine to roll it out! The youth of Focolare in Delhi put their culinary skills together for a cause.

“We had read about the serious situation of members of the Focolare community and others in Iraq, who had to flee from their homes, find refuge in schools and abandoned places, while the Youth for a United World (Y4UW) in Iraq were struggling to find them mattresses, food etc… This spurred us, Delhi Y4UW’s, to think of a concrete way to contribute.

Homemade Pasta!!! And it just requires flour, eggs, salt and the machine to roll it out! We launched ourselves in this activity and we were quick to learn the trade.

We received many orders because of the cause, but after tasting the pasta, the orders increased! 

The proceeds were sent and we also decided to let the community in Iraq know about their endeavour through the photos on the social networks, to which we soon received a reply which read:

“We felt a great joy and once again we experienced the immense love of God… if we are able to stand on our feet and go ahead it is because of this silent love that continuously supporting us even without us knowing it… We know that in India too there are many difficulties and so we live for each other!”
