Bethlehem: A ray of hope – Raggio di speranza

“Hope in spite of Destruction – CWB” and “Associazione Culturale Dance Lab Harmonia” concluded the first Art and Dance summer camp. It was a 15-day camp that took place at the John Paul II foundation Headquarters in Bethlehem. Fifty boys and girls participated and performed in front of their parents. The festival was great!!

Vera Baboun, Mayor of Bethlehem, thanked Fr. Ibrahim Faltas and Antonella lombardo for this wonderful initiative that gave hope and happiness to the children in these difficult days of War. Antonella Lombardo, Director of the Arts and Dance lab in Italy expressed her happiness for the result of this work and she also declared that her team did many performances and camps but this one was very special. She said that despite the war and the big number of problems, Palestinians proved to be free in their will and work.

At the end of the festival that consisted of Jazz, Hip Hop, mid-air dancing, arts activities for the first time in Palestine, Fr. Ibrahim Faltas, CWB president thanked Antonella and her team and CWB team in addition to the children and their parents for this great work and this extraordinary festival. Initially, this festival was intended for the general public however, the participation was restricted to the actors’ parents due to the bad situation in the region. Notwithstanding the killing and destruction, there was happiness and the children’s smiles and laughter were enough to express the success of the event. At the end, Fr. Ibrahim declared that this festival will be repeated on annual basis and next year it will be a one month Summer Camp.

CWB ha chiuso le sue prime Arte e Danza campo estivo di 15 giorni che ha avuto luogo in sede della Fondazione Giovanni Paolo II a Betlemme con la partecipazione di 50 ragazzi e ragazze che si sono esebiti davanti ai loro genitori. Il festival era fantastico!

Vera Baboun, sindaco di Betlemme, ha ringraziato p. Ibrahim Faltas e Antonella Lombardo per questa grande idea di dare speranza e felicità ai bambini in questi giorni difficili della guerra.

Antonella Lombardo, Direttore delle Arti e del laboratorio di danza in Italia ha espresso la sua felicità per il risultato di questo lavoro e lei ha dichiarato che il suo team ha fatto molti spettacoli e campi, ma questa era molto speciale. Ha detto che, nonostante la guerra e l’assedio e di tutti i problemi, i palestinesi hanno dimostrato di essere liberi nella loro volontà e il lavoro.

Alla fine del festival che ha avuto Jaz, hip hop, danza nell'aria, attività artistiche per la prima volta in Palestina, p. Ibrahim Faltas, presidente del CWB ha ringraziato Antonella e la sua squadra e la squadra CWB oltre ai bambini e ai loro genitori per questa grande opera e di questo straordinario festival che è stato progettato per essere uno molto grande, ma a causa della cattiva situazione, l’uccisione e la distruzione qui e lì abbiamo deciso di tenerlo per i genitori soli, ma comunque la felicità e sorrisi e risate di bambini sono sufficienti a dirci che siamo tutti riusciti.

E infine ha dichiarato che sarà un evento annuale nell’agenda CWB e l’anno prossimo sarà un mese di Campo completo estivo.
